Afraid of Dying with Unrealized Potential?
Anyone else afraid of dying with unrealized potential?
I am.
I recently realized that this is a deep fear of mine.
To be sure, this fear qualifies as a ‘champagne problem’ (as my friend likes to call them).
I recognize the privilege of having this fear.
Much of human history is simply survival. What a privilege to reach for so much more.
And yet . . . it’s here with me daily.
This call toward something more.
Each day, I automatically assess my actions against this metric:
Did I stretch toward my potential today?
Or, did I trade courage for comfort?
Often, I don’t meet my own bar.
I see a sea of possibility stretching before me and I simply know that I have so much more to offer the world.
I know that I have only scratched the surface of what I am capable of.
Is this you, too?
Do you just know that you have so much more to offer the world?
More to become?
More to create?
To change?
To share?
This urge–this knowing–is both exciting and terrifying.
Swimming into the sea of possibilities is salty, turbulent and unknown.
But staying on the shore is its own kind of discomfort.
The discomfort of knowing I am keeping myself small.
The discomfort of knowing that the only thing between me and my biggest impact is the consistent courage to continue moving toward it.
This is why I created Courage to Answer.
To help us consistently take courageous action toward our biggest potential in the world.
To stop letting our fears be bigger than our dreams.
To fully step into the YOU that you came here to be.
To shed beliefs that keep us small.
What is your courageous stretch today?
Find the simplest, easiest way to take a step toward your fullest potential.
And then do it.
Today.
When your mind starts to chatter, just remind it:
You would not have been given the desire for your dreams without the ability to achieve them.
Onward, my friends.
